Dáil Visit

Our Fifth and Sixth classes visited Dáil Éireann last Thursday November 29th and had a most enjoyable day. We were lucky enough to meet Taoiseach Leo Varadkar on the way in and some children even got a high five! Niamh Smyth T.D. met us on our arrival and arranged our tour of the Dáil Chamber and Seanad. The children were present for Leaders' Questions led by Tánaiste Simon Coveney. They got to see various Ministers and T.D.s in action before continuing on a tour of Leinster House where they learned about the history of the building itself, the first Dáil and former Taoisigh.

Afterwards we managed a quick visit to the Natural History Museum on Merrion Square before returning home. A wonderful day was had by all. Many thanks to Carol Coakley for organising the trip and to the Parent's Association for funding the outing.
