Swimming Certificates
Well done to all the pupils from 2nd class to 6th class for completing 7 weeks of aquatics lessons in Kells Swimming Pool.



Damhsa Mór
3rd and 4th class have been busy during Seachtain na Gaeilge learning a traditional Irish. The short video shows the hard work they have been putting into our term of Dance.
Active Walkway
Now the weather has improved the Active Walkway is getting plenty of use by all the class.


Our new Active walkway signs are now up. We will have lots of fun in term 3 completing many treasure hunts and trails.
Swimming
Well done to the children from 2nd to 6th classes who completed 7 weeks of swimming lessons with Kells swimming pool. Each child received a certificate for their efforts.

There are six strands in the PE curriculum:
-Aquatics
-Games
-Dance
-Gymnastics
-Athletics
-Outdoor and adventure
The children from 2nd to 6th classes attend Kells swimming pool during the first school term. All other strands are covered each year within all the classrooms.
We have updated our PE policy. Crossreagh National School Plan for PE
Physical education is allocated 1 hour per week of overall teaching time.
Teachers utilise the PSSI lesson plans to facilitate the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum for all.
Teacher access these lessons online as we are a green school and try to reduce on paper. Other resources can be accessed in the resources storeroom.
FUNDAMENTAL MOVEMENT SKILLS 2023
Each class will follow this fundamental movement plan on a 2 year cycle.
Our clearly labelled, tidy, PE storeroom.

This school year we have prioritised the strand- Gymnastics. We have purchased new equipment which is stored in the local hall and gathered up many resources from the PDST.
All the staff participated in some Gymnastic training with a local Gymnastics coach.
